Job Summary
Install and joint high-voltage underground power cables ranging from 11kV to 132kV, performing straight joints, transition joints, and terminations on XLPE, PILC, and EPR systems. Conduct electrical testing for insulation resistance, continuity, VLF, and phasing while diagnosing and repairing cable faults on utility networks. Assist with cable pulling, duct installation, trench preparation, and the installation of accessories like link boxes, earthing systems, and glands. Support commissioning and energisation of HV cable circuits, maintaining strict compliance with safety procedures and lock-out/tag-out protocols. Complete testing reports and installation documentation for major power and grid infrastructure projects.
Required Qualifications
- Must have right to work passport for the UK or Europe
- Electrical Trade Qualification / Electrical Trade Test
- Certified or trained in HV cable jointing
- 3–10+ years' experience in cable jointing within utilities, electrical infrastructure, or power construction
- Experience working on 11kV / 33kV / 132kV cable systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and cable layouts
- Strong understanding of HV safety standards and procedures

- Working at Heights certification
- Confined Space Entry
- First Aid training
- Experience working on utility or transmission network projects
