Job Summary

The Hunting Department Manager leads the Hunting Department operations to achieve sales goals, customer satisfaction, and profitability while modeling Turner’s brand and culture. Responsible for department operations, sales and cashier training, exceptional customer service, product promotion and events, stock reception and displays, firearm releases, order follow-up, audit accuracy, and general store support (including covering breaks). Requires firearm safety knowledge, leadership of a retail team, strong communication and customer-service skills, inventory and receiving duties, physical duties including lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasional travel. Requires high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in retail/sales in a lead role, knowledge of Hunting/Fishing/Shooting Sports, and eligibility to work in a firearms environment. Working hours include at least 45 hours/week with potential overtime; travel around 20% for events or training; Equal Opportunity Employment statement included.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate (or GED) required
  • Must have at least 2 years of prior retail and sales experience in a lead position
  • Knowledge about Hunting, Fishing/Tackle, & Shooting Sports
  • Legally eligible to work in a firearms environment
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Customer service experience
  • May require Certificate of Eligibility
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: lifting up to 50 pounds, firearm handling, computer proficiency, able to stand/sit/bend
