Job Summary
Hunger Advocacy Fellow in Madison, WI is a full-time contract role within ELCA’s Service & Justice unit, focusing on faith-based policy advocacy to end hunger and promote justice. Responsibilities include guiding the development of a Lutheran state advocacy network, researching and editing advocacy materials, representing the network in coalitions, fostering leadership development and faith formation, applying ELCA social teaching to hunger advocacy, and collaborating with the sppo network. The role requires strong written and oral communication, interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders, and comfort with public policy engagement, coalition work, and community outreach. Travel is minimal (up to ~5%), and the position is remote-location dependent with eligibility to work in the United States. The hourly rate is $20/hour plus benefits, with employment beginning September 2026; incumbent will be a full-time contract employee with benefits.
Required Qualifications
- minimum technical competency: Windows computer operations; basic troubleshooting; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) preferred
