Job Summary
Support multiple rooms in an ABSL-2 environment by humanizing mice, performing procedures for creation and shipment, and conducting daily welfare checks for food, water, and bedding. Operate basic equipment like steam autoclaves, perform advanced bio-methods including tail vein injections and blood collection, and manage sanitation, disinfection, and barrier entry/exit protocols. Maintain accurate documentation, submit animals for necropsy and monitoring, and transport supplies through airlocks while adhering to all SOPs and safety rules. Work weekend shifts, holidays, and overtime as needed, providing support to colleagues and balancing team skills toward common goals.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 2 years experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to be flexible and multi-task
- Detail orientated
- Ability to multi-task, shift priorities and remain focused and positive
- Demonstrated ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to use variety of software applications i.e. word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software to record and report activities
- Demonstrated team player with professional, positive attitude and willingness to be flexible
- Complying with all safety work rules and practices
- Regular & dependable attendance
- Successful proven record of written and oral communication skills
- Ability to seek out appropriate personnel resources to address non-routine questions
