Job Summary
The successful candidate will plan and develop an engaging English curriculum for grades 9-12, teach English skills for college and career readiness, assess students through assignments and exams, and maintain a positive classroom environment. Collaboration with colleagues, technology integration, and participation in professional development are essential. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in English and significant teaching experience, particularly at the high school level. A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and arts education is crucial.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in English or related Humanities field
- Strong experience in English instruction at the high school level
- Ability to use a wide range of course material
- Commitment to DEIB in Humanities curriculum
- Sensitive to cultural, gender, and economic diversity
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or beyond in English or related field
- Experience or interest in teaching History/Social Studies
- Experience in arts education
- Prior residential life experience
Additional Requirements
- Must obtain and maintain a valid California Driver License
- Pass a criminal history background check
