Human Services Technician - Avon Park

Job Summary
Provide supervision of daily activities for clients in residential programs and record individual case information. Deliver non-clinical services including alcohol and drug abuse education, and participate in group counseling sessions with senior staff. Serve as a professional role model to assist clients in learning age-appropriate daily living and problem-solving skills. Perform urinalysis to ensure clients remain alcohol and drug free following chain of custody regulations. Transport persons served in agency vehicles while maintaining approved driver qualifications. Work under the supervision of counseling and nursing staff as a member of a treatment team, completing required in-service training within 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- valid Florida driver's license
- TCHS Approved Driver Qualifications
- level 2 background screening
- ability to work under the supervision of at least a bachelor's level practitioner
- ability to complete in-service training in the treatment of substance use disorders
- ability to complete in-service training in patients' rights
- ability to complete in-service training in aggression control
- ability to complete in-service training in HIV
- ability to complete in-service training in infections control
- ability to recognize the signs and symptoms associated with abuse and dependence
