Job Summary
Coordinate full-cycle onboarding for faculty, staff, and seasonal positions, including background checks, I-9 verification, and new hire setup. Manage recruitment by posting job advertisements on platforms like Workable and NAIS, while maintaining candidate tracking spreadsheets and drafting employment contracts. Support payroll processing as a backup and assist employees with payroll-related inquiries. Maintain accurate employee personnel files, track certifications and trainings, and ensure compliance with Virginia Department of Education Child Day Center Licensing regulations. Serve as the primary backup for payroll and provide exceptional customer service throughout the employment lifecycle. Work standard hours from 8:00am to 12:00pm with a flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred or three or more years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience
- Experience in recruitment and onboarding required
- Proficiency in Google Suite/Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Ability to become CPR and First Aid Certified
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Experience supporting payroll processes preferred
- Experience in a school or nonprofit environment preferred
- Some knowledge of Virginia Department of Education Child Day Center Licensing regulations is strongly preferred
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalent) preferred but not required
