Job Summary
Process employee leave, disability, and worker's compensation claims by accurately and promptly completing forms, statements, and related materials in compliance with Stanly County Schools rules, policies, and state/federal regulations. Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal personnel policies while communicating procedural best practices to support district goals. Serve as a liaison to school personnel, employees, and central office staff, resolving problem situations with sound judgment and working independently to meet deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to communicate well with school personnel, employees, and central office staff
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships within the department and as a liaison with other departments
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and accomplish specific tasks
- Ability to learn, interpret, and explain policies, regulations and procedures
- Demonstrate functional knowledge of computers and all aspects of the Microsoft Office Professional software programs
- Physical ability (able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally)
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to compile and summarize information
- Ability to resolve problem situations with sound judgment
- Ability to compose correspondences independently
- Ability to work in the absence of supervision
- Preferred Associate Degree with coursework in human resources, business administration or related field
- considerable experience working with employee benefits administration
- evidence of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful in performing the position's duties and responsibilities
