Job Summary
HR Specialist supports the daily operations of the HR department, assisting with recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. Acts as a resource for employees and managers, guiding on HR policies and procedures while ensuring consistent application of District policies and employment regulations. Plays a leadership role in advancing community engagement, maintaining safety standards, and supporting The Brushy Creek Life. Responsibilities include coordinating interviews, applicant tracking, new hire onboarding, advising on HR policies, handling employee relations, maintaining accurate records, benefits enrollment and leave coordination (FMLA/STD), advising on starting wages per compensation structure, and supporting HR projects and training coordination.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources generalist-level HR functions.
- Experience supporting multiple HR functions such as recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations, and performance management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and managers at all levels.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
