Human Resources Officer

Job Summary

Manage day-to-day human resources functions including recruitment, onboarding, payroll processing, benefits administration, training coordination, and employee relations. Process payroll and maintain records while serving as the primary point of contact for applicants and employee concerns. Coordinate background checks, conduct exit interviews, and ensure compliance with employment laws and organizational policies. Maintain personnel files and document workplace investigations to foster a respectful, inclusive workplace aligned with the organization's mission.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible HR experience
  • Experience with payroll and HRIS systems (ADP or similar)
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Must have or able to obtain a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card within 90 days
  • Dependable transportation, valid driver's license, and automobile insurance coverage in compliance with Center requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in nonprofit organizations preferred
  • Experience working with the American Indian community preferred
