Job Summary
Oversee all Human Resource functions within the County, ensuring compliance with HR requirements and administering benefits and wage programs. Manage recruitment and hiring processes, including conducting background checks, pre-employment drug testing, and facilitating new employee orientation. Maintain accurate personnel files and HRIS system information while investigating employee grievances and complaints. Develop policies for injury prevention and workers' compensation compliance, and supervise an administrative assistant. Prepare annual salary and benefit estimates for the Board of Commissioners and cultivate a cohesive, inclusive workplace culture. Full-time, non-exempt role with a salary range of $82,947 to $131,109, primarily onsite with hybrid options negotiable. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration plus eight years of HR management experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of eight (8) years of Human Resource Management experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience to fully meet the requirements of the position
- Valid Montana driver's license
- Insurable driver
- Knowledge of County policies and agreements
- Knowledge of labor negotiations and business practices as they related to the public sector
- Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of personnel management
- Ability to analyze and resolve personnel management problems
- Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong commitment to public service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and County software systems
- Ability to implement digital interface efficiencies for HR operations
Desired Qualifications
