Job Summary

Manage end-to-end HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and offboarding while ensuring full compliance with federal and multi-state labor laws, with a strong emphasis on California compliance. Act as the primary HR partner for restaurant operations and leadership teams by handling investigations, developing policies, and overseeing payroll coordination and HRIS systems. Conduct training for managers and support staffing and retention strategies across the growing organization of 20+ restaurants and central kitchens. This role builds and scales the HR function from the ground up with a focus on data-driven KPIs and measurable impact.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
  • 4–6+ years of HR experience
  • Strong knowledge of California employment laws
  • Experience managing multi-state HR compliance
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Willingness to travel and work from restaurant locations as needed
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Desired Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP / PHR certification
  • Experience supporting restaurant or hospitality operations
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms (ADP, UKG Ready, Paycom, Workday, etc.)
