Job Summary
Oversee all human resources activities within the manufacturing plant in Wilmington, OH, by developing strategies to attract, retain, and develop talent while ensuring compliance with employment laws. Manage the full employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding, utilizing Ceridian Dayforce for HRIS administration and metrics reporting. Lead the performance and talent management processes to build bench strength, administer employee relations programs, and investigate work-related compliance issues. Process payroll bi-weekly, oversee agency associate programs, and manage leave programs including FMLA and disability. Partner with department managers to design training programs, lead community outreach efforts, and foster a positive work culture through recognition initiatives. Visit night shifts to ensure positive employee relations across all departments and shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite
- Highest level of integrity
- Demonstrated track record of results
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Sense of urgency and ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Ability to develop and maintain strong, effective internal business partner relationships
- Must have knowledge and understanding of employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, ERISA, COBRA/HIPPA and others
- Must have strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and recordkeeping requirements
- Be capable of administering benefit program at a local level including Health, disability, workers compensation and return to work programs
- Must be able to organize and prioritize the workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively with minimal direction
- Possess solid interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to adapt well to change
- Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office applications
- Ability to work closely with others in a cross-functional team atmosphere
- Flexibility to work off shift hours when needed to support plant needs
- Must be willing to visit night shifts to ensure positive employee relations across departments and shifts occur
- Will frequent production environment which includes exposure to noise, dust, moving machinery, fork lifts, and fluctuations in temperature
- Sitting at a work station for extended periods of time
- Stand, walk, climb stairs on an infrequent basis
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds on an infrequent basis
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field strongly preferred
- Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required
- Knowledge and experience HRIS systems, Time and Attendance System, MS Office (Word/Excel/Power Point) and Ceridian a plus
- Knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local employment laws
- Solid understanding of the role of HR in balancing employees and business objectives
