Job Summary
HR Manager to develop and execute HR strategies, provide daily client-facing HR operational support, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, terminations, and compliance across multi-state; serve as a liaison to leadership, support audits, HRIS/payroll platforms, and ensure alignment with business goals. Remote-friendly position out of the Greater Chicago area, IL. Requires 3-5 years of HR management experience, strong knowledge of HR practices and labor laws, and proficiency with major HR/payroll systems; emphasizes client service, professional communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced outsourced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Human Resources Manager or similar role in a corporate environment, 3-5 years of experience preferably as an HR Manager supporting multiple duties in a similar role, preferably in an outsourced or consulting capacity
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, multi-state compliance, and regulations
- Familiarity with HR/payroll systems such as ADP, Paylocity, Paychex, Paycom, Paycor, UKG, Gusto, or Netchex is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and leadership skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally
- Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Hubspot experience is a plus

- Bachelor’s/Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years experience as HR Manager or similar role
- Experience onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, performance and disciplinary processes
- Proficiency with ADP, Paylocity, Paychex, Paycom, Paycor, UKG, Gusto, or Netchex (preferred)
- Hubspot experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and leadership skills
- Experience with benefits reconciliations, 401(k) administration, and unemployment/workers’ compensation claims
- Conflict resolution and strong customer service orientation
- Ability to partner with leadership and provide strategic HR guidance
- Knowledge of multi-state compliance and policy development
- Experience in an outsourced/HR outsourcing environment is desirable
- Experience in onboarding and off-boarding processes
- Familiarity with HR/payroll platforms across multiple clients
- Experience creating SOPs and standard operating procedures for HR processes
- Experience in auditing HR processes and ensuring regulatory compliance
