Job Summary
Lead labor relations at a regulated chemical manufacturing site supporting ~600 employees, including ~450 union-represented workers across two unions. Serve as the primary company representative for labor relations, managing contract interpretation, grievance handling, investigations, and disciplinary actions; lead bi-weekly union-management meetings; build constructive relationships with union leadership to support trust, transparency, and partnership. Partner with Global Labor Relations Lead, local HR Director, and Americas Regional Lead to inform strategy; participate in collective bargaining negotiations as second chair and ensure consistent application of CBAs across the site. Advise unit leadership on best practices, contract compliance, and employee relations decisions; provide coaching and training on union relations, grievance handling, and contract administration. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (NLRA) and safety regulations within a chemical manufacturing environment; collaborate with operations to align labor practices with regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement in labor relations processes and outcomes and maintain operational continuity while balancing contractual interests.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field
- 7–10+ years of progressive labor relations experience in a unionized manufacturing or industrial environment
- Demonstrated experience in grievance handling, arbitration preparation, and collective bargaining negotiations
- Strong working knowledge of labor laws and employment regulations (e.g., NLRA)
