Job Summary
The Human Resources Manager oversees compliance with Japanese labor laws, including managing work rules, social insurance, and employment contracts while leading recruitment and onboarding initiatives. This role requires strong project management and analytical skills, including data-driven decision-making and stakeholder management. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in HR or related fields and at least 5 years of progressive HR experience in Japan, with fluency in Japanese and English being essential.
Required Qualifications
- Deep understanding of Japanese labour law, social security regulations, and work-permit processes
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms, UKG Pro & One View, and advanced proficiency in MS Office
- Full professional proficiency in Japanese and English, both written and spoken
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience advising senior leadership
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple HR initiatives and meet tight deadlines.
- Data-driven mindset: comfortable generating and analysing HR metrics, reports, and dashboards
- 5+ years progressive HR experience in Japan, ideally in a multinational or scaling environment
- Proven track record in recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and policy governance
- HRIS proficiency and advanced Excel skills
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certifications (e.g., 社会保険労務士, JHRA, SHRM-CP/SCP, HRCI)
- Experience leading cross-border HR projects in APAC
- Experience in logistics, operations, or industrial settings
