Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary
HR Generalist responsible for leading full-cycle HR support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employment status changes, offboarding, and policy implementation. Partners with HRBP/HRIS to conduct new hire orientation, coordinates Open Enrollment and benefits administration, and ensures compliance across HR policies. Acts as a trusted contact for employees, guiding on a wide range of HR matters and escalating when needed. Manages leave of absence forms, maintains knowledge of HR trends and employment law, coordinates organizational-wide training, and supports additional HR and administrative duties to advance the museum’s mission and great place to work initiative.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
- Experience with HR systems in nonprofit and/or museum field preferred
- Proficiency with Paylocity or a closely related HRIS preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
- Strong problem-solving skills and high emotional intelligence
- Ability to act confidentially
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
