Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary
Oversee HRIS systems including employee data changes, benefits administration, and system maintenance. Manage annual open enrollment, process monthly vendor bills, and administer leave programs such as FMLA and workers' compensation. Provide guidance on employee relations, policies, and procedures while monitoring unemployment and workers' compensation claims. Lead the full-cycle recruitment and onboarding process, including background screening, training coordination, and offboarding. Develop HR metrics, administer engagement programs, and support budgeting and audit processes. Maintain confidentiality of personnel information and ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field with six years of related experience
- No degree with at least 10 years of related experience/education resulting in demonstrated ability to perform the major duties required
- Six or more years' experience in HR with specific experience in benefits administration, payroll, and finance processes
- recruiting and corporate training experience
- Strong knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines concerning personnel administration in the State of Ohio
- Proficient with HRIS systems (preferably Paycom)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
- Proficient with Cloud Services
Desired Qualifications
- PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification
- SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification
- SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resources Management – Senior Certified Professional) certification
- SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resources Management – Certified Professional) certification
- Experience with the electric utility industry
- Experience with NERC/FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) and auditing standards
- Knowledge of laws concerning HR from multiple states
