Job Summary
Manage the FMLA leave administration process from initial notice to return to work and oversee all leave of absence processes ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations. Advise managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and disability benefits while maintaining clear communication to facilitate smooth returns. Draft and recommend revisions to company leave policies and maintain accurate records of all leave and accommodation requests in accordance with legal requirements. Manage workers' compensation claims from start to finish, including reporting, follow-up appointments, and tracking claims to facilitate employee return to work. Closely monitor injured employees' recovery progress and provide regular updates to supervisors and insurance providers. Conduct regular audits of claims data to identify trends and patterns, working with third-party administrators, the Safety Department, and finance teams to assist with detailed claims management. This role supports a well-established manufacturing leader in Rocklin, CA, with a hybrid schedule option after initial training.
Required Qualifications
- at least three years of experience facilitating worker's compensation and leave management
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience with leave of absence management and worker's compensation
- Strong understanding of workers' compensation laws, regulations., and processes (California and federal)
- Experience with Cal OSHA and Federal OSHA
- Functional knowledge of HIPAA, FMLA/CFRA, ADA/FEHA, USERRA, STD, LTD, state leave laws and procedures
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information
- Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working with insurance providers, legal professionals, and healthcare providers related to workers' compensation claims
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- 1–2 remote days per week after the initial training period
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the manufacturing or construction industry
- SHRM or HRCI certification
- Bilingual
