Job Summary
Process weekly and biweekly payroll activities by reviewing employee information, managing timecards, and resolving discrepancies to ensure accurate submission. Support recruitment efforts through candidate outreach, resume screening, interview coordination, and maintaining applicant records for high-volume hiring initiatives. Assist with employee benefits administration during Open Enrollment by coordinating sessions, distributing communications, and resolving enrollment issues. Respond to routine employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and general HR matters while maintaining strict confidentiality. Maintain accurate HR records, prepare departmental reports, and collaborate with the Payroll Specialist, Recruitment Specialist, and external vendors to ensure operational continuity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of progressive office management experience
- experience in Human Resources preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong Google Suite knowledge and Google Workspace
- Ability to work effectively with payroll data, employee records, spreadsheets, reports, and HR systems
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet strict payroll and HR deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with employees at all levels of the organization
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive employee information
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of an HR team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets preferred
- Experience working with HRIS, payroll, applicant tracking, and benefits administration systems preferred
- UKG Pro and/or UKG Time Management experience is highly desirable
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting payroll processing strongly preferred
- Experience with recruitment, talent acquisition, or high-volume hiring preferred
- Experience supporting employee benefits administration or Open Enrollment preferred
- Experience working in a unionized, transportation, educational, operational, or high-volume workforce environment is a plus
