Job Summary
Process bi-weekly payroll for full-time, part-time, and casual union team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local wage laws. Review and reconcile employee timekeeping records, including missed punches, pay adjustments, shift differentials, and overtime. Lead employee relations functions, handling investigations into policy violations and conducting exit interviews to analyze turnover data. Partner with management to implement HR strategies, communicate policies, and facilitate new hire orientation and talent development initiatives. Provide coaching and feedback to all employee levels while ensuring compliance with governmental labor reporting requirements. Report directly to the Senior Human Resources Manager in the Target Center department.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management or another business-related field
- 3-5 years of progressive human resources experience
- Extensive working knowledge of federal and state labor law, including workers' compensation, workplace safety, EEOC, NLRB, and FLSA
- Superior computer skills including hands-on HRIS and ATS experience
- Must be comfortable presenting to small and large audiences
- Demonstrated ability to forge meaningful interpersonal relationships across functions, industries and in local communities
- Outstanding leadership skills with a high capacity for managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Must possess excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills and the ability to prioritize and execute in a deadline-oriented environment
- A strong commitment to delivering a high level of customer and client service with demonstrated initiative, leadership, and management skills
- Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements, including late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Comfortable working in a matrix leadership environment
Desired Qualifications
- (Preferred) Experience processing payroll for a multi-department workforce, including hourly, salaried, and part-time employees
- 2+ Years of supervisory experience preferred, not required
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required
