Job Summary
HR Generalist – Multi-Site provides on-site human resources support across two manufacturing facilities, executing HR programs, supporting employee relations, driving HR process excellence, and ensuring consistent policy application. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish to support a diverse workforce. Based primarily in Chicago, IL with occasional travel to Carlstadt, NJ (typically 2 to 3 times a year); responsibilities include payroll processing, training/compliance tracking, recruitment, background checks, new hire orientation, benefits and leave administration, disciplinary matters, employee inquiries, investigations, and HRIS systems usage. Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and conflict-resolution skills are essential; travel and collaboration with managers and leadership are required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree and 3–5 years of related experience; alternatively, a High School diploma with 5–7 years of equivalent experience
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
- Experience supporting a unionized environment, preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel occasionally (5-10%)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
