Human Resources Generalist I

Job Summary
Conduct day-to-day administration of human resources programs while serving as a first point of contact for employees on policies, procedures, and routine employee relations matters. Coordinate recruiting for hourly and entry-level positions, including application review, interview scheduling, and new hire orientation, while maintaining accurate personnel records within the HRIS. Support benefits administration, leave processing, and compliance efforts by ensuring adherence to federal and state employment laws and facilitating open enrollment activities. Assist with policy rollouts, employee engagement initiatives, and special projects under the direction of HR leadership. Work on-site in the Salt Lake City, UT manufacturing facility during 3rd and 1st shifts (5am-1:30pm Monday-Friday) to build broad HR knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field
- At least 1+ years of Human Resources, Recruiting, Administrative, or related professional experience
- Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization
- Working knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, or benefits administration
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO requirements
- Demonstrated customer service orientation and problem-solving capabilities
- Location: This role will be based on-site at our Salt Lake City, UT (Grantsville) manufacturing facility
- Shift: This role will support 3rd and 1st shifts, so the ideal working hours will be 5am-1:30pm Monday-Friday approx. (with flexibility needed as well)
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Human Resources certification (PHR) or progress toward HR certification
- Experience supporting hourly workforce populations preferred
- Experience using HRIS systems or demonstrated ability to learn HR technology platforms preferred
- Experience generating HR metrics, reports, and workforce analytics preferred
- Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training
- Human Resources internship or prior HR experience in a manufacturing, production, distribution, or industrial environment preferred
