Job Summary
HR Generalist coordinates human resources activities including employment and employee relations; provides administrative and project management support; assists in development, implementation and coordination of HR activities that drive organizational performance. Responsibilities include administration of HR records, payroll processor back-up, coordinating recruiting efforts, supporting OH and WI facilities, handling hiring processes (background/reference checks, offers, letters), coordinating employee-relations programs (orientation, counseling, recognition), conducting exit interviews and communicating findings, conducting training sessions, distributing HR communications (handbooks, 401(k), open enrollment, recognition), identifying potential issues and advising management, investigating harassment claims, administering FMLA approvals/tracking, assisting with compensation and benefits administration, and other duties. Requires ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and travel up to 1–2 weeks yearly; strong interpersonal and communication skills; SHRM membership/Certification positive; manufacturing experience a plus. Location: Walton Hills, OH.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent, two to four years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- SHRM Membership and SHRM-CP / -SCP Certification a positive.
- Recruiting experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
- Working knowledge of basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees.
- Working knowledge of base HRIS system functions.
- Previous experience with HR in a manufacturing facility is a plus.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- 1 to 2 weeks of travel per year may be required.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to interact with and effectively communicate with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
