Job Summary
The HR Generalist provides support to Caritas Family Solutions’ HR department, acting as a business partner to communicate clearly, maintain compliance with labor laws, and support recruitment and onboarding. Responsibilities include planning and implementing HR programs with the Director of HR, handling employment inquiries, maintaining policies, informing applicants about duties and benefits, coordinating recruitment and onboarding, and staying current on HR-related changes. The role requires a bachelor’s degree, at least 3 years of relevant experience, trauma-informed care proficiency, and strong computer skills (Paycom/HRIS, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word). The position is based in Belleville, IL, with typical 8:00am–5:00pm hours and full-time status.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Experience with HR policies and labor law changes
- Trauma-informed care practices or willingness to apply them
- Proficient in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
- Experience with Paycom or similar HRIS/Payroll systems
- PHR/SPHR/SHRM certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
