Job Summary
HR Generalist provides tactical and strategic consulting on talent development with managers to improve employee engagement and performance. Partners with managers on employee relations, including investigations, development plans, and coaching; ensures compliance with HR policies; aligns business objectives with employees; develops partnerships to deliver value-added services; maintains knowledge of the business unit's culture and goals. Essential duties include leading integration of HR systems, coordinating employee relations and investigations, supporting performance appraisals and merit increases, aiding onboarding and talent acquisition, developing training programs, conducting exit interviews, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with the HR Director, Legal, IT, Safety, and Finance on policies, handbook accuracy, and program implementation; provides day-to-day coaching on policy interpretation, talent management, organizational design, and confidential, ethical conduct; and supports HR initiatives such as workforce planning and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- BS/BA degree required; with human resources emphasis preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ direct experience in human resource work required
- SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR preferred
- Knowledge of employment laws and workers' compensation
- Experience in recruiting and sourcing candidates
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills
