Job Summary
Executive HR leadership role directing all human resources operations in a historic Northwest newsroom/publishing environment. Leads employee relations, investigations, workforce planning, compliance with federal and Washington State labor laws, labor relations and collective bargaining activities, recruitment, onboarding, leadership development, and HR policy excellence. Partners with newsroom and operations leaders to drive sustainable growth and organizational transformation while strengthening culture, accountability, and mission alignment. Requires strategic advising of executive leadership, strong communication and judgment, and deep experience across HR functions within media, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations; familiarity with Rippling or similar HRIS highly valued.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of Washington State employment law
- Experience in unionized environments preferred
- Exceptional communication, judgment, and leadership skills
- Experience within media, publishing, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations strongly preferred
- Experience with Rippling or other app-based, decentralized HRIS preferred
