Human Resources Coordinator

Job Summary
Coordinate recruitment and onboarding, including posting positions, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and extending job offers. Manage pre-employment processes (background checks, employment verification) and onboarding progress. Maintain employee records and HRIS data; handle benefits administration (enrollment, changes, terminations) and monitor 401(k) eligibility/enrollment. Serve as point of contact for employee questions on policies and procedures; assist with performance management, disciplinary action, and terminations as directed. Support timekeeping and payroll, audits of attendance/leave, and provide backup payroll support. Ensure HR compliance with labor laws and internal policies; coordinate annual training and required certifications (e.g., BLS) for clinical staff. Support employee engagement, organizational initiatives, communications, and events; maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. Office is in a medical setting (Gastroenterology) with regular interaction with staff and external partners; standard office hours and potential overtime based on departmental needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in human resources or related field required
- Two (2) to three (3) years of Human Resources or related experience required
- Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Excel required
- Form I-9 verification experience? (implied by duties)
- HRIS familiarity preferred
