Job Summary
Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings and offer letter generation, while coordinating new hire orientations and processing compliance paperwork such as I-9 verification and California-specific notices. Support semi-monthly payroll processing through timecard audits and exception management, ensuring adherence to California wage and hour laws. Administer employee benefits programs, coordinate leave requests for FMLA, CFRA, and PDL, and track California Paid Sick Leave. Maintain accurate personnel files in HRIS, generate headcount and turnover reports, and assist with workers' compensation claims and regulatory filings. Serve as a visible resource for employee inquiries regarding policies, pay, and benefits while tracking mandatory training completion. Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required to support staff events and peak operational periods.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of HR coordinator or generalist experience
- Experience in hospitality, private club, food & beverage, or a related service industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance requirements
- Experience with HRIS platforms and applicant tracking systems
- Strong organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- High degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment in sensitive situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred
- Paycom experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- PHR, or SHRM-CP certification
