Human Resources Coordinator and Recruiter

Job Summary

Manage new hire onboarding by creating orientation materials, reviewing BEOs, and conducting 30-day check-ins. Maintain personnel files, audit records for compliance, and process I-9s and document expirations. Support talent acquisition by screening applicants, setting up interviews, and extending offer letters. Handle basic payroll tasks like running punch reports and distributing checks. Provide bilingual English/Spanish translation for employee requests and HR projects. Submit training attendance and assist with worker's comp claims. Distribute monthly newsletters and manage HR swag inventory.

Required Qualifications

  • Bilingual: English/Spanish
  • High school or equivalent education
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must possess basic computer skills (Microsoft Suite – Outlook, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Ability to prepare and analyze data figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, workers' compensation, wage and hour issues, and labor relations, including, but not limited to the following statutes and their comparable state and local laws (where applicable): Title VII, ADEA, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, FMLA, ERISA, and NLRA
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours per day
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
  • Ability to work primarily with fingers to pick, pinch, type and carry out substantial movements (motions) of the wrists and hands as well
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, electric typewriter, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time
  • Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings
  • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Starwood rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel's facilities

Desired Qualifications

  • One to two years' experience in Human Resources related positions
  • Prior hotel experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
