Job Summary
Partner with operational leaders across 27+ San Diego County locations to strengthen team performance, guide managers on employee relations, and coach them into effective leaders. Conduct workplace investigations, manage leave of absence and accommodation processes, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Oversee quality assurance for onboarding, recruiting, and HR administration while supporting audits, payroll collaboration, and workers' compensation initiatives. Drive employee engagement, retention, and training programs to shape the employee experience from hire to retire. Assist with company-wide change management and foster positive team environments across multiple units.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, trends, and industry standards
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate HR policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization
- Strong relationship building and problem solving skills
- Experience in talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and benefits administration
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and other HR-related software
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, multi-location environment
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling sensitive employee information and situations
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to conduct occasional travel throughout San Diego County to our 27+ locations
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred - SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, PHR or PHR-CA credential. Maintain certification or have the ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire
- Proven experience in HRBP role supporting multi-unit or multi-department preferred
