Job Summary
HRBP role based out of PAQ, Inc. store locations in California, supporting field leaders with hands-on HR across multiple locations while ensuring CA labor law compliance. Responsibilities include employee relations (performance management, investigations, corrective action), recruitment and onboarding, benefits administration support, compliance and risk management (labor laws, wage/hour, CFRA, FMLA, FEHA), performance management, and HR reporting. Requires strong collaboration with store leaders, ability to advise on classification issues and scheduling, and travel between store sites. Must have a Bachelor's degree in HR/Business, 5+ years HR experience with at least 2 years in a business partner capacity, and valid California driver’s license. Preferred HR certifications and multi-location experience in retail/grocery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with 2+ years in a business partner role
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience conducting investigations, IAPs, and other compliance driven HR action items
- Proven ability to partner with and influence leaders at all levels
- Possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license for fleet insurability and travel between store sites.
- Excellent communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills
