Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

Job Summary

Provide administrative support for daily HR operations, including recruitment coordination, employee record maintenance, and handling sensitive inquiries. Manage the performance management process by creating and tracking job descriptions, while overseeing leave administration and ensuring accurate documentation of promotions, transfers, and exits. Coordinate background checks for external applicants, organize new hire arrival experiences, and assist with employee training documentation. Maintain confidentiality and filing accuracy for all HR documents, track professional licenses and accreditations, and prepare employment verifications. Stay current with Ontario employment legislation and industry best practices while reporting to the Director of Human Resources.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 to 4 years of professional human resources experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
  • Computer literate with previous professional experience with HRIS systems, Adobe PDF, M365 applications (excel specifically), including SharePoint and Teams
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or in a related discipline, or diploma / certification in Human Resources Management from a recognized accredited institution
  • A member in good standing with the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA)
  • Valid Class G Ontario Driver's License
  • An up-to-date clear Vulnerable Sector Check
  • An up-to-date clear TST result
  • Ability to attend all BANAC worksite locations
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced and evolving work environment
  • Must be adaptable and have a positive attitude
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have the ability to complete tasks with a high level of detail quickly and accurately
  • Must have high emotional intelligence with excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to perform assigned tasks with a high level of understanding for discretion and urgency

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in or with Indigenous communities
  • A CHRP designation
