Job Summary
The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to the HR program, performing clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, scheduling, and assisting with research, reporting, and employee queries. Responsibilities include maintaining HR files and confidentiality, HRIS data entry, coordinating travel and meetings, preparing meeting notes, handling mail, generating reports, answering FAQs about policies and benefits, assisting with payroll questions, supporting talent acquisition and new hire orientation, coordinating benefits enrollment and employee recognition events, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. Requires strong communication, organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS; bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred; valid driver’s license required; some experience in a Community Action Agency or nonprofit environment is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in related field or equivalent preferred
- 2+ years of experience in administrative role required
- 1+ years of experience in Human Resources preferred
- PHR or related certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Bilingual ability strongly preferred (English/Spanish)
