Human Resources Assistant Director

Support the Director in advancing organizational priorities, analyzing needs, and developing strategy while monitoring compliance with ordinances, laws, and Merit System requirements. Compose complex reports and correspondence for personnel issues, supervise assigned personnel, and provide technical direction to staff. Coordinate and assign work, resolve employee conflicts, and assist in preparing and administering the departmental budget, including reviewing invoices and authorizing payments. Develop and implement employee benefit programs, draft request proposals, and manage contract bids. Conduct classification studies, draft HR policies, and provide guidance on employment law matters. Serve as a liaison to other departments, provide staffing recommendations, and review unemployment compensation claims. Act as Director in absence and coordinate training sessions and employee recognition events.
