Job Summary
Provide clerical support for the Director of Human Resources, serving as the licensure contact for certified staff with DPI by submitting requests and maintaining files. Initiate criminal background checks for new hires, prepare teacher contracts, and maintain longevity and service records while updating staff actions in the LINQ HR information system. Assist in setting initial salaries based on DPI schedules, post vacancy announcements in Talent Ed, and respond to employment verification requests. Complete state reports including SS200, SS300, and vacancy data, coordinate coaching contracts, and manage substitute files and lists for schools. Maintain BT and probationary status lists, mentor/mentee records, and evaluation schedules within the NCEES program. Send employment letters following Board Meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- two years of employment in an administrative office or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of general office practices
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting practices
- Knowledge of purchasing and selection practices
- Ability to operate standard office machines
- Ability to use correct grammar, spelling, and mechanics in writing reports
- Ability to compare information accurately
- Ability to use basic computer software programs (Word, Google, etc.) and learn the use of more complex software
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of North Carolina Professional Educator Licensure (preferred)
- Knowledge of LINQ and NCEES (preferred)
- Experience in an educational setting (preferred)
- Training or experience in the use of Microsoft Office and Google products preferred
