Job Summary
The HR Administrator supports the daily operation of the HR Department, administering various HR processes and interacting with employees at all levels as well as external partners. Key duties include supporting the summer student program, managing the HR email inbox, onboarding new department employees, administering benefits and HRIS data, handling employee inquiries about policies, assisting with recruitment (shortlisting, interview packages, reference checks, regret letters), preparing offer letters and change forms, processing new hire and termination paperwork, coordinating background checks, assisting with onboarding orientation, and generating HRIS reports. The role is a 3-month contract with potential extension, requires 24 hours per week (Wednesday–Friday), and pays $18–$19/hour. The position is based in Markham, ON, with in-person work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent education/experience
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in HR
- Experience with HRIS (Ceridian Dayforce) systems is asset
- Positive attitude and strong active listening skills with appropriate responses
- Proven self-starter with time management and ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment
- Autonomous with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain discretion, diplomacy and confidentiality
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and related software
