Job Summary
Partner with hospital leadership on employee relations, coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution across multiple Bay Area specialty and emergency veterinary hospitals. Support recruiting, onboarding, retention, and succession planning while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Guide leaders through investigations, corrective actions, accommodations, leaves of absence, and policy interpretation, and analyze workforce trends to recommend strategies improving engagement. Travel regularly throughout the Bay Area to provide onsite support and build strong relationships with hospital teams. Maintain flexibility to support a 24/7 veterinary environment as business needs dictate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR best practices
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel throughout the Bay Area
- Flexibility to support a 24/7 veterinary environment as business needs require
Desired Qualifications
- Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or California HR Certification) preferred
- California HR Certification preferred
- Excellent communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills
