Job Summary
Serve as the on-site HR resource for employees and supervisors at Nichols Brothers Boat Builders, handling employee relations, supervisor coaching, and performance review cycles. Manage the full operational scope of the HR function, including onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, and maintaining confidential employee records. Support recruiting efforts through postings, interview coordination, and hiring decisions while ensuring compliance with federal and Washington State employment laws. Act as the primary point of contact for the shipyard regarding calls, mail, and visitors. This role offers a competitive $34–$42 hourly rate with benefits, including paid ferry fare to Whidbey Island, and provides an opportunity to support a skilled maritime workforce.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- 3+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in manufacturing, construction, maritime, or industrial environments
- Strong employee relations and coaching skills
- Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced, on-site setting
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
