Human Resource Generalist I (2nd Shift)

Job Summary
HR Generalist I with a focus on supporting the 2nd shift touch-labor workforce at Rhoads Industries. Acts as liaison between employees and operations management; handles day-to-day inquiries regarding benefits, attendance, and payroll-related concerns; assists with disciplinary processes in line with union collective bargaining agreements; counsels employees on workplace issues and mediates conflicts; facilitates employee engagement initiatives; tracks attendance/time-off using HRIS and time-keeping systems; assists with leave facilitation, performance appraisals, and development of performance improvement plans; maintains personnel files and HRIS data; generates reports for management and supports workforce planning. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferred), HR certifications (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred), US citizenship, and minimum of 2 years’ HR or labor-relations experience in an industrial environment with a unionized workforce. Must be able to work 2nd shift and adapt to flexible hours; strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills; comfortable with shop-floor engagement and handling confidential information.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
- US citizenship required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a human resources or labor relations role required
- Experience supporting operations in a warehouse, manufacturing, production, or similar industrial environment required
- Prior experience with a unionized workforce preferred
- Must be willing to work a schedule that supports second shift
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of HR laws and regulations
- Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite; Excel proficiency
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Detail oriented and efficient
- Shop floor engagement experience
