Job Summary
As a HUD Accountant, you will support accounting functions for HUD-funded housing programs, including financial reporting, reconciliations, audit preparation, and HUD-specific processes. You’ll maintain accounting and bookkeeping systems for HUD housing programs, perform monthly bank reconciliations, process billings and receivables, assist with financial audits and supporting documentation, and help ensure HUD compliance through REAC submissions and regulatory requirements. You will maintain HUD fixed asset inventory and financial tracking, and collaborate with Housing Division leadership to support housing operations and financial accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Five to ten years of accounting or finance experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred)
- Experience with QuickBooks and/or OneSite (preferred)
- TB clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- CPR & First Aid if applicable
- Valid Hawaii driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, safety inspection if applicable
