Job Summary
Postdoctoral Scholar (Computational Biology) at Penn State's NCEMS within the Huck Institutes of Life Sciences. The successful candidate will conduct original computational biology research involving large-scale public datasets, multi-omics integration, biological data harmonization, and systems-level analysis, collaborating with faculty to align with NCEMS goals. This full-time, on-site term appointment at University Park is funded for one year with potential renewal based on mutual agreement. Requires a PhD in Computational Biology or Systems Biology, strong Python and/or R skills, a track record of peer-reviewed publications, and experience with large-scale biological datasets. Required Qualifications
- PhD in Computational Biology or Systems Biology
- strong foundation in computational analysis of molecular and cellular biology data
- Python and/or R
- demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with a strong publication record
- experience with large-scale biological datasets (genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, etc.)
- familiarity with biological databases and public data repositories (NCBI, GEO, SRA, ENA, UniProt)
- independence, strong work ethic, strong communication skills, ability to collaborate in a team
