Job Summary
Build and maintain high-quality front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive, and accessible UI components. Engineer reusable UI components, implement animations and micro-interactions, and continuously optimize performance including load times and rendering efficiency. Collaborate with UX/UI designers, CMS engineers, and product stakeholders to refine interactions and ensure technical feasibility of designs while adhering to WCAG, SEO, and CMS-driven content structures. Debug front-end issues efficiently and use Git for collaborative workflows. Work within an international, dynamic team at PeopleCert, a global leader in professional skills assessment present in over 200 countries.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Front-End Developer / Front-End Engineer or similar role
- Strong command of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
- Solid understanding of semantic HTML and structured markup
- Demonstrated experience translating design systems and Figma files into production-ready UI
- Strong understanding of responsive design, performance optimization, and cross-browser compatibility
- Experience building animations and micro-interactions using CSS and/or JavaScript
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles
- Experience with CSS pre-processors (SASS / LESS)
- Clear, hands-on experience working with Git, including branching, pull requests, and collaborative code reviews
- Excellent English language skills (C2 level preferred; LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL is a plus)
- Advanced computer literacy is required
- ECDL Advance level certification is desirable
- Must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties
- All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared
- If working on the SELT service in the UK, must pass a basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
- If working on the SELT service in the UK, must pass a Right to Work in the UK check
- If working on the SELT service in the UK, must pass an HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC))
- If working on the SELT service in the UK, must pass a Financial background check
- If working on the SELT service in the UK, must pass an Employment reference check
- If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with other JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g., Angular, Vue, React)
- Experience or strong interest in UX-oriented front-end engineering
- Familiarity with CMS platforms, particularly Sitecore (strong plus), as well as SharePoint or headless CMS solutions
- Exposure to design systems, component libraries, or front-end architecture discussions
