Job Summary

Develop and maintain comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs compliant with OSHA, EPA, FDA, and life sciences-specific regulations including GMP and biosafety standards at a Wilson, NC manufacturing facility. Manage all environmental permits, conduct compliance audits, lead incident investigations, and serve as primary liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections. Design and deliver EHS training programs, oversee critical safety programs like hazard communication and emergency response planning, and implement exposure monitoring for chemical and biological hazards. Conduct process hazard analyses, analyze EHS metrics to drive continuous improvement, and provide technical expertise for capital projects while preparing performance reports for client and account leadership. This role requires 80% floor time and occasional evening or weekend work; no visa sponsorship provided.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related technical field
  • 4+ years of progressive EHS experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or related life sciences manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations (particularly 29 CFR 1910 General Industry standards), EPA regulations, and FDA GMP requirements
  • Proven track record of implementing and maintaining effective EHS management systems
  • Must be able to conduct facility inspections requiring walking, climbing stairs, and accessing elevated areas
  • Ability to wear required PPE including respirators, safety glasses, and protective clothing
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Work in manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and temperature variations
  • This position is based at the client's life sciences manufacturing facility with approximately 80% time on the production floor and 20% in office settings
  • Some flexibility for remote work for administrative tasks
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support incident investigations, emergency response, or client needs
  • Limited travel (less than 10%) for training, regulatory meetings, JLL corporate EHS initiatives, or multi-site account support
  • This position does not provide visa sponsorship
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Location: On-site –Wilson, NC

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in outsourced facilities management, contract services, or client-facing roles
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems
  • Knowledge of biosafety containment requirements (BSL-1/BSL-2)
  • Experience with cleanroom operations and contamination control
  • Familiarity with risk-based process safety management
  • Previous experience with JLL or similar integrated facilities management providers
