Job Summary
Incumbent collaborates with the classroom teacher to support developmentally appropriate activities for Head Start children. Responsibilities include implementing daily lesson plans and schedules, recording observations (Teaching Strategies GOLD), organizing learning centers, maintaining safety and health practices, engaging with children using developmentally appropriate language, and assisting with transitions. The role involves interacting with children and families in a warm, respectful manner, recruiting volunteers, attending trainings, and advocating for the Head Start program. Required qualifications include an ECE credential (ECE Diploma, CDA or Associate Degree in ECE or equivalent) and at least one year of childcare experience. Essential physical functions involve mobility and manual dexterity, with typical lifting up to 25 pounds and ongoing classroom supervision. Benefits package is offered to eligible employees.
Required Qualifications
