Job Summary
Develop sustainability and environmental practices into day-to-day operations through technical advice, education, and clear communication. Embed environmental requirements into business processes, systems, and tools while developing controls for key risks including water, vegetation, noise, and waste management. Monitor environmental performance, conduct trend analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives supported by site inspections, field assessments, and audits. Manage compliance with development consents, planning obligations, and permits by liaising with regulators and coordinating reporting on incidents and sustainability outcomes. Raise awareness through toolbox talks and deliver training to employees as required. This role supports ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 certification within National Pump & Energy's Sydney Smithfield or Beresfield locations, requiring ad hoc travel.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification or diploma in Sustainability, Environmental Management or a related discipline
- More than 3 years' experience in an environmental or sustainability role
- Previous experience with sustainability and emissions reporting
- Experience conducting field inspections, system audits and environmental incident investigations
- Working knowledge of SHEQ Legislation
- Current C-class Driver's licence

- Ability to influence managers and supervisors on sustainability initiatives
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
