Job Summary
HSE Supervisor responsible for implementing and supporting project HSE plans and regulatory requirements, delivering project-specific HSE training, and overseeing district training. Leads HSE inspections, evaluates hazard identification, and advises on corrective actions for systemic issues. Develops and maintains project emergency response plans, site-specific security requirements, and environmental plans; monitors trade partner HSE performance; participates in on-site investigations and recommends corrective actions. Supervises and mentors HSE Coordinators and other employees, building positive relationships with stakeholders and ensuring effective communication and training across projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
- Holds safety designation
- 7 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a related industry
- 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role is an asset
- Strong working knowledge of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes
- Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to problem-solve
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology
