Job Summary
HSE Supervisor in Montréal, Quebec responsible for implementing and supporting project HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices; developing and delivering project-specific HSE training; leading project HSE inspections; advising on corrective actions for systemic issues; developing and maintaining emergency response and environmental plans; monitoring HSE performance of trade partners; participating in on-site investigations; and mentoring HSE staff. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field, safety designation, 7 years’ health and safety experience with 2 years in a supervisory role, strong knowledge of OH&S and environmental legislation, solid communication and stakeholder-management skills, knowledge of construction processes, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
- Safety designation
- 7 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a related industry
- 2 years’ supervisory experience is an asset
- Strong working knowledge of OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes
- Conflict resolution skills
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
