Job Summary
Lead and supervise a team of HSE employees across specialized domains such as Field Safety, DOT compliance, and drug and alcohol programs. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company standards while taking decisive action to protect personnel and the environment, including stopping unsafe operations. Conduct investigations into incidents and worksite conditions to identify root causes and non-compliance, then mentor and train HSE personnel to ensure consistent performance. Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies to support compliance efforts. Requires strong leadership, communication skills, and proficiency in English. Bachelor's degree and 4–5 years of HSE experience preferred. Travel up to 25% and shift work may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, legal codes, and government compliance standards
- Ability to act as a subject matter expert within assigned HSE domain
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Understanding of business processes, resource allocation, and strategic planning
- Customer-focused mindset with strong collaboration skills
- Proficiency in English
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 4–5 years of experience in HSE, safety compliance, or related field
- Ability to perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
- Regular standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting (up to 20 lbs)
- Requires visual acuity, hearing, and verbal communication
- Exposure to outdoor environmental conditions and industrial hazards (equipment, vehicles, chemicals, etc.)
- Travel required up to 25%
- May be required to work shifts longer than 8 hours
Desired Qualifications
- Spanish proficiency is a plus
- Relevant HSE or safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, CSP)
