Job Summary
HSE Specialist to develop, implement, and continually enhance our HSE programs, ensuring full compliance with all relevant governmental regulations. Responsibilities include driving a positive safety culture through awareness campaigns and incentives, maintaining adherence to HSE standards, preparing regulatory reports, creating site-specific HSE standards, overseeing waste management, delivering training and coaching, supporting incident investigations with root-cause analysis, participating in emergency response, managing contractor safety programs, coordinating HSE training and improvement projects, engaging in PHAs and HSE committee meetings, and serving as backup to the HSE Manager as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, HSE, or a related field
- In-depth understanding of HSE regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, DOT)
- Strong preference for experience or internship in the chemical industry
- Familiarity with hazard recognition, behavioral-based safety, and job hazard analysis is a plus
- Ability to influence stakeholders effectively without direct authority
- Adaptability to adjust work hours, including occasional nights and weekends
